Gallinari grabs spotlight from Carmelo

The talk before the game was about a four-time All-Star forward. But another forward stole the show. In Denver's 119-114 double-overtime win over New York, Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari scored a career-high 37 points. Gallinari had been one of the players acquired last February from the Knicks for star forward Carmelo Anthony, and this was the first time the teams had met since then. "It's special, not just for me but I think for everybody," Gallinari said of his big game. "Whenever you come to (Madison Square) Garden to play, you always find extra motivation and it's always special." It was much less special for Anthony. All of the focus had been on him entering the game. "Expectations are still high," said Anthony, who scored 25 points but shot just 10-of-30. "Things will still be great. I'm not down, I'm not regretting anything. I'm not regretting the trade." Anthony had asked to be traded, and the Nuggets complied. They got a nice package of players for him, including Gallinari. It was a much-hyped game that both teams were glad to put behind them. The Nuggets have three off days to rest, not playing again until Wednesday at Sacramento. From CbsSports.com
